Volunteers are an important part of what makes our school a great place to learn and grow. We value and appreciate the support of our volunteers.
We need volunteers!
We need volunteers to help with our breakfast program. If you can volunteer one morning a week from 8:45 to 9:30 to help prepare and serve breakfast to our students, we'd really appreciate it! Call Mrs. Torrie if you are interested.
We need volunteers for our School Wide Reading Program. This is a great way to volunteer. If you find yourself with some extra time during the day, pop in and read with some of our students. There is no need to commit to a specific time and day, it's a flexible way to volunteer in our school community.
Our School Council will be selling pizza on Fridays. If you can volunteer to help with the organization and/or distribution of the pizza on Fridays please call the office.
We are looking for a volunteer to help with Friday's Safe Arrival Program. We are also looking for people to fill in occasionally. If you are interested, please call the office.
Are you interested in volunteering at the school? We would be glad to have you! All you need to do is drop into the office and pick up a letter to take to the OPP detachment in town. Once you receive the criminal record and vulnerable screening check back from the OPP bring it in to us and we will send it up to the Board for our Superintendent's approval. You will then be added to our Approved Volunteer List and will be able to volunteer in the school. It's as easy as that. Once you are on the Approved Volunteer List you must submit a signed Annual Declaration form prior to November 30 in each year you wish to be a volunteer in the school. If the declaration is not received, then your name will be removed from the Approved Volunteer List however you may apply again via the process for new volunteers. All volunteers are required to attend an Orientation Session every year. These are offered a couple of times in the fall and usually once in the spring. If you are unable to attend one of the scheduled sessions, please contact the Vice Principal to make other arrangements.
If you are interested in driving students in your personal vehicle to and/or from a school event you must on the Approved Volunteer List and fill out a transportation form. We will require proof of a valid licence and appropriate insurance when you fill those forms out. They are available in the office.
