ECES Halloween Reminders Halloween Reminders
Dear ECES Parents/Guardians;
We wanted to give you information about how we will celebrate Halloween at our school. This year, some classes will be having a parade in the school on Thursday, October 31, and if your child wishes, he or she may wear a costume or dress in black and orange clothing.
As a reminder, costumes should not have replica weapons or face masks and no costumes should mimic the traditional attire of an ethnic, racial, gender or marginalized group/identity. Also, no Halloween candy or food should be brought in to the school, we strive for healthy snacks that are peanut and nut free.
As we approach Halloween, it is important to think about how we can make this day, which is a fun day for many students, align with our Character Attributes as an organization, and as a school. All members of the school community are expected to honour our traits and demonstrate that they care, are co-operative, honest, inclusive, respectful, responsible, and have integrity. We would also ask that you keep these traits in mind in choosing a Halloween costume for your child. Any participation in Halloween activities by students or staff is completely voluntary.
Thank you for your care, attention and support in ensuring our school is inclusive for all!
Sincerely,
ECES Staff
